Overview

The product

CoachVault is a platform for independent personal trainers and their clients. It brings client access, plans, check-ins and communication into one workspace instead of scattering them across chats, notes and spreadsheets. Trainers get an operational overview, while clients get a simpler mobile experience.

The implemented foundation includes Supabase authentication, server-validated sessions, workspaces, memberships, coach-client relationships, access requests and one-time invitations. Training, nutrition, progress, check-ins, messages and calendar screens currently use typed preview data or local state. They show the intended product direction, not finished production modules.

Workspace access

Trainer permissions come from workspace membership. Client access depends on an active trainer-client relationship.

Secure invitations

One-time links use random tokens, stored SHA-256 hashes, expiry and email matching.

Trainer and client views

The trainer dashboard highlights clients who need attention. The mobile client screens preview workouts, check-ins and progress.

Clear preview boundary

Typed data contracts keep preview modules separate from real accounts and access data.

The challenge

The main challenge is deciding who can see each client and workspace. Access is checked on the server and again in the database. Invitations expire, match the recipient’s email and can only be accepted once, while the interface keeps that process simple for trainers and clients.

Current status

CoachVault is in internal testing. Accounts, sessions, workspaces, permissions, trainer-client relationships, access requests and invitations are implemented. Training, nutrition, progress, check-ins, messages, calendar and detailed client metrics remain previews and are not production-backed yet.
